Bell Recó, Argentona
Lee & Ana
Lee and Ana flew in from Houston (Texas) to get married near Barcelona, and they did it right at the start of winter. It breaks the usual script a bit: most destination weddings in Spain go after sun and beach, with the whole family staying a week by the coast. They went for winter instead, and it turned out perfect. They also arrived at the altar as an already-made family: Ana's two daughters and Lee's son. Five leads, not two — and you felt it in every moment of the day.
The day at Bell Recó
Getting ready happened in the rooms at Bell Recó, in Argentona, with that classic feel that instantly lifts any photograph. Ana and her daughters did their makeup in the music room, with the piano taking centre stage; Lee and his son got dressed in the old gentlemen's parlour, where in another era the men used to retreat to smoke and talk late into the night. The ceremony, framed by the blanket of red leaves climbing Bell Recó's wall and the pool closing off the scene, gathered only their closest family. Ana appeared hidden behind a white parasol that she opened little by little, revealing her face as she walked down the aisle. Short, simple, with the kids as essential supporting roles. A shower of petals, the group photo with every guest, and off to the aperitif. The sun set during the cocktail hour and the night rolled in with the first dance and Ana's second dress. Dinner was outdoors, under a structure of LED light curtains that gave the whole thing a homely feel, with music by Tu Música Events.
Our work
What Ana asked for isn't common: instead of enjoying the aperitif, they wanted to dedicate an hour and a half to a photo session just for the two of them. To us that says a lot — these are people who genuinely value the images they'll be left with. We covered the wedding with both photography and film, in the documentary approach that defines us, and that session gave us some of our favourite images of the day.
