Xavi and Gerard are one of those couples you can't picture apart. They probably argue, like everyone else, but what stays with us are the way they look at each other.
They got married in a truly idyllic spot: Can Ribas is much more than a venue — it feels like one big garden cared for with exquisite taste. A family-run place that you can tell is loved up close, with constant attention and warmth.
The ceremony in the gardens
The ceremony took place in the gardens of Can Ribas, with the flowers as witnesses to a beauty that's hard to match. Two of their closest friends officiated, and beautiful personal vows gave way to their nieces, who carried the rings. The couple session at Can Ribas always runs long: it's impossible not to get lost among its thousand corners, the cypress paths, the wooden doors and the fruit trees.
Cocktail, dinner and a surprise choreography
They walked into the cocktail hour with coloured flares, while their loved ones waited, eager to hug them. The big surprise came when Xavi's cousin sat at the piano and created an intimacy shared by every guest.
The party kicked off during dinner. Xavi surprised Gerard with a choreography alongside his dance students — the kind that those of us who can't dance can only admire. Then came the first dance: a slow song, dim lights, barely any space between the two of them, mutating into bachata and pop, with Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears taking centre stage.
Our work
Raquel photographed this wedding, and she connected with the grooms straight away, creating a very special synergy between them.
