Frequently asked questions about getting married in Catalonia
What types of wedding venues are there in Catalonia?
Mainly masías and private estates (by far the most common format), castles and historic buildings, restored convents and monasteries, villas and seafront venues along the Costa Brava and the Garraf, and contemporary design-led spaces. This guide includes an example of each type.
Where should you get married in Catalonia if you want to stay close to Barcelona?
Many of the best estates are less than an hour from Barcelona: the Maresme (Argentona), the Vallès Oriental (Sant Feliu de Codines), the Moianès (Moià) or the Garraf (Vilanova i la Geltrú). You can celebrate surrounded by nature without complicating your guests' travel.
How far in advance should you book the venue?
The most in-demand estates in Catalonia usually close their high-season dates (May to October) 12 to 18 months in advance. If you have a specific date in mind, it's worth starting your visits early.
Can the civil ceremony be held at the venue itself?
Yes. Most of these venues have gardens or outdoor areas set up for the ceremony, and some —such as Convent de Blanes or Monestir de Sant Salvi— also have their own chapel or church for religious ceremonies.
How much does it cost to get married at an estate in Catalonia?
Prices vary a lot depending on the space, the number of guests, the season and the catering, so each estate puts together its own tailored quote. Venue hire alone, without any other service, can reach 30,000-50,000 € depending on the time of the season, although not every estate charges hire separately. Our advice is to request proposals from two or three venues that suit you and compare them for the same guest count.
The perfect venue isn't just seen: it's felt
A great venue isn't simply a beautiful place. It's one that makes the whole wedding feel right.
Where atmosphere, light, landscape and architecture accompany your story naturally. Where every moment feels exactly as you had imagined —or better.
Because when the space is right, everything flows differently.
Alongside helping you find the space, we work as wedding photographer in Barcelona and wedding videographer in Barcelona—tell us about your plans and we'll be there.
